Daika Wood Modular Lamp

The Daika Wood Modular Lamp project began as an exploration of how modern technology can breathe new life into sustainable materials. At its core is Daika wood, a remarkable material crafted from agricultural waste and bound together using natural, organic binders. This project weaves together the ancient wisdom of using natural resources with the cutting-edge precision of Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) and 3D printing.

These molds, when filled with Daika wood and left to set, transform into lightweight, durable pieces. The wood, with its natural hues and textures, brings an earthy warmth to the high-tech process.

The journey of creating this lamp is also a narrative of challenging norms. The lighting industry is often dominated by non-renewable materials and energy-intensive production methods. This project stands as a counterpoint, demonstrating that it’s possible to create beautiful, functional items with minimal environmental impact.
