Pygmalion Effect
The "Pygmalion Effect" project is a captivating digital installation that intertwines shadow, light, and perspective to narrate a deeply personal story. Inspired by my childhood experience, this installation reflects on the profound impact of positive reinforcement. When I was a little girl, my kindergarten teacher's praise for my paintings ignited a spark within me, boosting my self-confidence and nurturing my artistic skills over the years. This early encouragement is brought to life through a series of scattered rods.

At first glance, these rods may appear chaotic and disjointed, much like scattered pieces of a puzzle. However, when illuminated and viewed from a precise angle, these seemingly random elements converge to form a coherent and clear image, projected as a shadow. This transformation symbolizes the clarity and focus that encouragement can bring to one's abilities and potential.
The installation invites viewers to step into my shoes and experience the moment when a few kind words transformed my self-perception and artistic journey. Through the interplay of shadow and light, it demonstrates how a change in perspective can reveal hidden potential and beauty, much like the way the Pygmalion Effect operates in real life.
